Description:
In the 2025 edition of the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) (applies to Part 3 buildings), and the National Building Code of Canada (NBC) (applies to Part 9 buildings), operational carbon tiers were introduced. The 2030 versions of the codes are currently being updated to add embodied carbon tiers.
In this webinar, these operational and embodied carbon requirements will be presented, and participants will learn how they can observe and contribute to the development of the 2030 embodied carbon tiers. The speakers will also describe how the Ontario Building Code (OBC) is unique to these requirements by not adopting the operational tiers from the 2025 national codes.
